Okay so, everybody thank you for your replies, I appreciate the discussion  
and am glad to know there are diverse members at trisquel. That said, now I'd  
like help learning about the driver thats making my graphics work. I need to  
increase the resolution to 1980 x 1080 but can't seem to do so. Let me know  
what kind of information I can provide to make resolving my issue easier.
