The free driver is insufficient and perhaps someone can help me configure it
to meet my needs.

That if somebody has knowledge of how I can accomplish my goal and refuses to
help me, such behavior is disgusting and contradictory to the FSF.
Not sure how not helping someone install/use proprietary software is contrary

Helping others is a great way to spread your campaign.
The campaign I strive for is Free Software, not "Help people use
non-libre/non-free software.".
Hiding your own knowledge is useless.
