This is a very common problem and sometimes people don't have the money to
buy another Wireless Card (as an example). I had the same problem but I had
the chance to own a Realtek Wireless Card from an MSI Netbook that was
compatible so I switched to my new laptop, but I know that not everyone has
this chance.
Now it is true that, even if it is not ideal, it is better to only use that
piece of software non-free instead of using a full non-free OS just to use
that part. But it is also true that help can't be provided here.
Even Mr. RMS told about Steam that, even if he doesn't agree with the
software itself and won't recommend his use since it is non-free software, a
part of him is "happy" because he knows that a lot of people will now use
Gnu/Linux Distributions, and because of that, start using a lot more Free
Software (hopping that they get the interest of learning about the movement
and the idea).
So (and this is just a silly idea), a special place in the forum just for
cases like this one could be good, even if it isn't ideal, at least people
that only have 1 piece of hardware without solution could still use Trisquel
GNU/Linux until they have the money/time/etc... to replace it. (Just an
idea).
PS: If you want to find a replacement here is a very good and specialize
website that you maybe already know thinkpenguin.com
