Ubuntu takes the packages in Debian testing's repository and modifies quite a
lot of them (all packages with a version ending with "-ubuntu[0-9.]*").
During this time, Debian testing continues updating the packages from
upstream. By the Ubuntu release, many system packages are newer in Debian
testing than in Ubuntu. With Trisquel, the difference is even greater since
the release happens about six months after the related Ubuntu release. As for
Debian stable, the package versions are frozen for years, whereas
Ubuntu/Trisquel are released every six months. It is the opposite problem.
