I have no idea what the situation with Apple's digital media players is like today.
I actually got an iPod back when they were the latest thing that everyone had
and I didn't even know about free software (I could have swore it was called
an "iPod Nano", but the Internet tells me that it must have been an iPod
Mini). I want to say it was about 6 years ago. I noticed that the thing
sucked; I couldn't see any way to put music on it in GNU/Linux because
apparently you had to do it with iTunes. I hated Windows even back then, so I
promptly returned the iPod.
