Well, both the players I've had do this. One was the one ThinkPenguin sells,  
and one was an Insignia one ("Insignia" was a Best Buy brand which has since  
been discontinued). The only thing about both of these is that the  
manufacturers expect you to use a Windows program to convert videos for use  
on them.

I don't know how common it is, but there are players you can get that work  
like that.
