The patron system is not endorsement by the FSF of companies' activities;  
this is explicitly mentioned on the patron page. The only affiliation they  
have with the FSF is giving them money. Since Google gives them the most  
money out of all patrons, they are listed at the top of the patrons page.  
Note that just below Google are Oracle and IBM, hardly describable as pillars  
of the free software world.
