I'd argue against that like this: suppose I owned a zoo. I charge
admission for all those who want to enter. You sneak in through a hole in the fence, enjoy a day at the zoo, and sneak out. By that argument, I should not prosecute or go after you, because I still have the zoo.

Then you're mistaking an attack on the specfics of the PR rhetoric of 'steal,' 'theft' and 'piracy' for something making a statement about the real meanings of those words. It's copyright infringement not 'theft.' That's why people avoid such language and talk of 'GPL violations' which are also a matter of copyright law. Although that's merely a convenient vehicle for maintaining the four freedoms.
