It depends on how you installed Trisquel on your USB stick. It seems you  
installed it as "live-CD" so your stick will act like a actual CD.

You can create a USB stick which will act like a normal OS with "Starup Disk  
Creator" which you can find in the System Settings. Just be sure to check  
that you specify that you do want to save your data and settings on the stick  
and give them enough space.
