The problem is more the quantity of RAM. If you open several heavy Web pages (for instance), you will run out of RAM, the system will start using the swap (called "virtual memory" in Windows), i.e., the disk that is something like 10-100 times slower than the RAM. I would therefore advise you to (at least) double your quantity of RAM. It is really worth the US$ 20-30 it will cost you.

That said your old processor raises problems as well. It probably does not have the modern circuits that are specialized in decoding MP4 videos, in virtualizing another system, etc. As a consequence, it will be too slow for such "modern" activities.
