Thank you, that was clear. Sometimes I forget that Trisquel is Debian/Ubuntu without all the non-free stuff. The point I was making about the FSF defending a copyright, is that they defend THEIR copyright which was signed over to them by the original copyright holder. This is often done as the FSF is in a better position to ensure legal action is taken when necessary. The original holder had nothing to lose by signing it over since their only concern is keeping the work free-as-in-freedom, and the FSF is in a better position to do that.
