Check your logs. What do they say? Linux-libre had some deblobbing changes  
with 4.16 - see

The most notable one here is changing from EINVAL ("Invalid argument") to  
ENOENT ("No such file or directory") which, in some cases, has allowed things  
like an rtl8821ae card to work without its firmware. I wonder if Trisquel has  
incorporated this change. Anyway, check your logs. What do they say?
