I just had the same experience with a failure of "do-release-upgrade". I am
very reluctant to change anything in my configuration, since I went to some
lengths to make the machine in question into an audio server that passes all
file formats unchanged to an external DtoA device.
I am able to run the system without the upgrade, but I noticed on the next
startup that "apt-get update" is getting flidas files, and "apt-get
dist-upgrade" suddenly reports
"2171 upgraded, 1009 newly installed, 137 to remove and 1 not upgraded."
So, it appears that I am in an intermediate state with package configuration
files updated to flidas, but not the packages themselves.
I declined the upgrades for now. I hope that someone can provide more
thorough advice regarding the steps to get back to an up-to-date consistent
system, preferably without undoing any audio configuration.
