Well, as far as I understand, you do not run Trisquel 7 anymore.  Like I  
wrote, you should save (e.g., on an external drive) the system configuration  
files (in /etc) you changed, the list of packages you installed (e.g., with  
the menu "File/Save Markings" of the "Synaptic Package Manager") and, of  
course, the user files (including the personal configuration).  Only the user  
files really take space and justify the use of a backup system such as the  
one in the "System Settings" (or whatever it is called in MATE).
