My solution to not contaminate my current setup was to flash Trisquel 9 MATE  
iso to a flash drive which I then would boot using 'Try trisquel without  
installing' I would then need to add the PPA, the key, install the package,  
then run the jailbreaking program.

Why don't you install Trisquel 9 (and the PPA and the key and the package  
and...) once and for all on that flash drive?
