Yes, it is what I mean.  And yes, you need a flash drive besides the one with  
the live system.  The live system can be on a DVD too.  The installer on the  
live system should let you choose the drive where to install.  You may need  
to choose a "Something else" installation type (or whatever it is called  
nowdays).
