DAVEH: > do Protestants enter into any covenants with the Lord? Yes, but Protestants vary in the emphasis that they put upon covenants. Covenant theology is very big among Calvinists. For example, Presbyterians base their practice of infant baptism upon covenant theology. In charismatic circles, there is a huge amount of teaching about covenants. Faith brings about miracles and healing, and faith is increased when a person understands their covenant relationship with God. The idea is that in a covenant, there are obligations and responsibilities by both parties, so if you understand your covenant with God, you can expect God to act certain ways on your behalf, such as by bringing to you healing, or bringing to you prosperity. Much teaching is done about the Abrahamic covenant, and how believers in Jesus can take part in this Abrahamic covenant, because it is a covenant of faith.
