I recommend Interlinear Bibles.
I am only vaguely familiar with the Good News Bible. I think the best English translation is the New American Standard Bible. I personally like to read for fun The Message Bible. I can't put it down when reading something else. However, The Message Bible is a paraphrase, not a literal translation.
DAVEH: Glenn.......I just picked up a copy of GOOD NEWS BIBLE. Is that
the version you previously recommended to me?
