The "old covenant" promissed the "new covenant," therefore the latter is the
result of the former, but with better promisses. We are not only promissed
long life for obedience, but eternal life. We are not only promissed
blessings and persecutions in this life for obedience, but in the life to
come, life eternal with reward according to our work.
MAR 10:30 {But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses,
and
brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands,
with
persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.}
LUK 18:30 {Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and
in
the world to come life everlasting.}
JOH 12:25 {He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his
life
in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.}
LUK 6:23 {Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your
reward
[is] great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers
unto
the prophets.}
REV 11:18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time
of
the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest
give
reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and
them
that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them
which destroy the earth.
REV 22:12 {And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward [is] with me, to
give
every man according as his work shall be.}
