Perry,
Welcome back into the fold! This rejoices my heart! However, it saddens me that you were so disillusioned as to leave in the first place. Are you finding any greater satisfaction now? Please explain, either way, if you don't mind. I hope you and your family have found a wonderful church fellowship.
I find much lacking in Protestantism, too, such as prevalent acceptance of sin and assimilation with the world. However, it seems to be about the only place to find Jesus! The only other place I am finding MORE of Him (without the hypocrisy) is in the Messianic congregations and teachings.
I was always raised under the false teaching that Catholicism was the "roots" of Christianity. Now I have found what I believe are our true roots (Judaism—as in Jewish Believers found in the New Testament), and finding great joy in exploring them. It throws so much light on understanding our scriptures, and Jesus Himself. I believe that Catholicism is why there is so much false teaching in the Protestant church--it sprung out of that false doctrine the best it could, but much of the original false ideas still remain. I still love the Protestant church, but it helps explain a lot of what I find somewhat lacking there. So I attend Messianic meetings on Saturday, and non-denom church on Sunday. Both are blessings.
Izzy
PS I still love Catholics, too! Just not their false beliefs.
