I believe that was the "condition of the heart". The stick-picker-upper did
it out of defiance.
Kindling a fire isn't turning a switch. I don't think they had Zippo back
then. They cooked on fires...we don't, unless we're at Sukkot and then we
keep the fires going so there is no kindling a fire on Sabbath.
Sabbath is a joy, not a burden.
