enemies' (too)--not merely/only in loving one's
'brethren'
Dean writes:How about
the worker of Iniquity that God hates-that is the issue here-I agree that
one should love our enemies but there are limits-Satan is my enemy-should I love
him? I am saying that one has to use wisdom on separating the groups of people
you are dealing with-all are not the same.
Did Paul love Ananias of Acts 23:2-No he didn't. Paul said "God shall
smite thee, thou whited wall...History show that Ananias died with 3 yrs of this
event-Where was Paul's love here Gary?
Judy:
Paul was in the flesh and out of order here and he apologized and
repented for his rash action, see Acts 23:5 Then Paul said
"I did not know brethren, that he was the high priest; for it is written, you
shall not speak evil of a ruler of your people" So Paul broke God's
law and he had to repent.
Dean you need an attitude adjustment toward people or you are in danger
of being one of those who come before the Lord at the end saying "Lord, Lord,
have we not prophesied in your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many
wonders in your name?" Jesus says - And then I will declare to them 'I
never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!" (Matt
7:22,23)
So what is 'lawlessness'? (1 John 3:4 tells us that sin is
lawlessness). How could someone doing all this in Jesus name be in sin?
Through lack of love. Love fulfills God's Law - The law of Christ that we
are fulfill is just one commandment to LOVE and upon this hang
all the law and the prophets.
So long as you are unable to separate the person from their sin and so
long as you keep on insisting that God hates people you are walking in
lawlessness... I know it's easier to rebuke and condemn. It's hard to lay
down your life in love but this is what is required of us in Christ as his
ambassadors to reconcile people to God.
