DavidM, as I have pointed out in the Humpty Dumpty analogy, and as Kevin also pointed out in a previous post, the words Mormons use have been redefined, and when they use them it sounds as though they are agreeing with Christians, but they are using their own meanings for the words.

For example, any Mormon will acknowledge the Godhead as being made up of three persons of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, but to them they are three entirely separate and different entities. They do not recognize the Trinitarian concept of the three persons being one God. They are separate to the Mormon.

Likewise, I had a Mormon tell me one time that he agreed that Jesus was born of a virgin. When I pressed him he said that "virgin" did not mean she had never known a man...it simply meant "young girl". They believe that God himself came to earth and had sex with Mary, a "virgin" (young girl) to produce Jesus. This is totally contrary to what the Bible teaches!

DavidM, I am sure you are aware we can talk for hours with Mormons, and seem to agree on a lot of points, but they are speaking a different language than Christians speak...like DavidH's attempt to redefine "damned". He had no answer for what I said, so decided to redefine the meaning of the word "damned" in order to make it appear as though being damned is not a bad thing, it just "slows you down a little". It's hogwash.
