Dean writes: True-but didn't those same disciples give us those things "to come" in the bible-The book of revelations certain fulfilled this prophecy-and did all the other books that went past the 4 gospels-to bring something new is in my opinion the building blocks of a cult. Later we are told not to add nor remove any thing from this book-which is to being about severe punishment (Rev.22:19).So if i-in my limited view-make a statement in the area that God said"..." then this statement must be backed up by prior teachings of the bible. To add a new thing is a mistake. How do we know truth spoken on this site-all here use the bible to support their claims-(with the exception of Mormons and Pagans-no offence intended). To bring a "new thing" is suspect. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------- It seems to me that if we believe the Bible, we have to believe in > revelation from outside the Bible because that is what the Bible > teaches. In other words, it is a contradiction to say you do not > believe in revelation from outside the Bible and also say that you > believe in the Bible. The Bible teaches that there is revelation apart > from Scripture (e.g. John 16:12-15 quoted above), and it gives many > examples of it happening in the lives of believers after Christ returned > to heaven. Dean writes: Right- the bible gives many examples of this happening-but not outside of scripture. David-in an effort to not be difficult I can agree with you to this extent. If some one were to say to me that God was going to start drawing Gog and Magog to the mountains of Israel in 7 days -then i would consider his words. i would want to speak more to this man/angel to test why he would say this thing and to try his spirit. The reason i would give him that benefit of the doubt is because his statements would in my opinion be in compliance with God's written word. So yes we can have revelations outside the bible -but those revelations must be supported from inside the bible. What think ye? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - ---------- "Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer every man."
