Blaine Upon his resurrection, Jesus was
clearly able to do things he had not done before he was resurrected. That
much we seem to agree upon. He still had his wounds--the wounds (not
scars) in his hands, feet and side. They were his ID, so to
speak. But the disciples could both see and feel him, also
agreed upon by all, right? He said he had both flesh and bones,
right? BUT--he also was able to walk through walls, transport himself long
distances. When he left finally, he "ascended" into heaven, with the
disciples watching--also witnessed by two angels. I assume at this time,
he was also immortal--
It seems clear to me he was much the same as
before he was crucified, but evidently had some powers not mentioned in the
scripture--powers we do not at this time comprehend, and probably won't
until our turn comes to participate in the resurrection from the
dead.
Beyond that I cannot conjecture, unless I
get into Mormon scripture and Mormon doctrine, which says his
resurrected body was the same one that was crucified, but was purified, and
sanctified, giving it powers beyond that of ordinary mortals.
Mormon doctrine says we also will have these powers upon resurrection--the most
significant one being immortality.
BUt the crux of Mormon belief is that the body will be both tangible and of a more spiritual nature--not carnal nor fallen. We
will be more in touch with the Spirit of the Holy Ghost, and therefore more in
tune with God, and therefore happier than either as a spirit alone or as a
spirit united with a mortal, fallen, natural body, as is the case in our present
condition.
