I was raised in a denomination with a social gospel which was death to me.

What we call the "social gospel" is not without merit as I read Isa 58:9-11.
Romans 2:18ff  shows that there is at least a second path to God other than preaching the gospel. John

jt: No John, there is just one way/door and this is through Christ and by repentance. Giving
ppl the false idea that they can be nice folk and make it to heaven is heresy.  It may take a
while because of God's mercy and long-suffering but eventually judgment will come and it
has come to the church I was raised in.

This church has lost it's candlestick and is about to close the doors. My mother tells me
there are just two men and a dog there today.  Sad, because they have a fat bankbook from
people who died and left their estate.  A beautiful 150yr old building and a fat bank book
are all they are left with.  Temporal stuff that is passing away.

When we reject God's truth he leaves us to our own devices.
