DAVEH:  I had thought it was a bigger factor than physical cleanliness.  But, I suppose staying clean might have been a lot harder then than now!

An additional thought that I have had recurrently about Judaism is that everything is so centered around cleanliness.

DAVEH:  Are you referring to physical cleanness, Izzy, or do you consider them to be an important symbol of spiritual cleanness?
