It seems to me I said the trial of Yeshua was an internal issue. There had
to be an "internal" reason to have Him bumped off. That Internal reason was
Torah. There was nothing in His actions that facilitated the death sentence,
so they used blasphemy: calling something God that was not God.

The Romans saw nothing in Him to warrant the death penalty (much like what
the Romans said of Paul -- which, again, is support for his continued
validation of Torah), but the Romans gave some of the Judean leadership (the
Sadducean leadership with the High Priest and some of House Shammai
Pharisees) what they wanted in order to keep Pax Romana: they gave them
Yeshua.

Your thought on "capital punishment for sedition and treason" doesn't work
with the quote from Pilate, "You brought this man to me, accusing him of
leading a revolt. I have examined him thoroughly on this point in your
presence and find him innocent." (Luke 23:14b NLT)

Do you really think that the Romans would have crucified someone for
breaking Shabbat or eating non-kosher food? It seems to me that sedition
would be the only charge worth making. Even in our modern government, it
would be easier to get capital punishment for sedition and treason than it
would if it was argued that somebody violated Shabbat.
