You can disagree if you wish, but I do not see it as a sincere question, even though it is phrased as a question. It's like the question "When did you stop cheating on your husband?" It's a statement designed to inflame. There have been others on TruthTalk who have used tactics similar to this. Thankfully they're no longer posting. There is a way to engage in conversation and disagreement without being enflaming. Judy needs to begin using love as the main motivator for her posts, because I don't hear it in these posts.

jt: I was attempting to speak the truth in love Slade - I'm sorry it falls short of your standard.

John:  try God's standard and you still miss the mark, Judy.

jt: Oh? Now we have a second mediator between God and man by the name of John Smithson?

What do you think I was actually saying,  Judy?  that you miss the mark and I don't?   That I want Slade's job which includes moderating to a few who refuse to accept his leadership?

jt: I would call what you describe 'peace at any price' Slade - Of what value is a truth talk list where some are forbidden to speak because others find their version of truth to be offensive?

John:  It has the same value as words written by those who do not see the beam in their own eye   -------------------    news flash:  the Lord's comment assumes this to be a problem on every occasion of expressed judgmentalism.

jt: So whenever the Word of God causes offense it is always because the evangelist, speaker, writer, has a beam in their own eye?  I recall reading someplace that even when someone preaches Christ out of envy and strife we should rejoice that the name of Christ is lifted up... (and leave judging the man's character to God who is better equipped for the task)

Either you want to understand what I am saying or you want to argue.   I had in mind Romans 2:1-2   --   my words displayed the same sense of finality as those of Paul  .................  exactly the same sense.   What Paul was getting at in Romans 2 is my message for you. Do you think that Paul includes Judy Taylor in his message?

John
