Virtually everything reflected in your style is 'Enlightenment Rationalism'. Bill, Jonathan and I have spoken of this from time to time. They are more conversant with intellectual historythan I.

Perhaps we should revisit the Sadducees....OR PERHAPS NOT. As to Paul, well IMO,  he too was a monist with respect to God & HK.

David, I find you to be excessively pedantic. You travel many rabbit trails in pursuit of the 'count' (WWF - 1,2,3)  Win/lose with no draw. I know that those who see you otherwise will rush to your defence so, you need not do so. The same will villify me for having spoken out against the 'David'. But, David, there you have it.

LOL.  You accuse me of being locked in the past of what... at the most two hundred years ago in some French Enlightenment Project, simply because I believe that all truth is rational and because I believe in the concept of free inquiry, but here you are locked into the doctrine of the Sadducees of two thousand years ago!  Amazing.  :-)

What did Jesus say about the Sadducees regarding this very same doctrine?

"Ye therefore do greatly err" (Mark 12:27), "because ye know not the Scriptures, neither the power of God" (Mark 12:24).

Perhaps we should revisit the Sadducees and how Jesus and Paul dealt with their Hebrew thinking that denied the concept of spirit and soul.

Peace be with you.
David Miller.
