jt: Scripture interprets scripture John and your 'imagination' is what will get you and those influenced by you into
trouble. All passages of scripture are related (it is not 66 separate books); they were all inspired by the same
Spirit and all point to the same Lord. Understanding God's Word does not come by way of Polyani, Newbegin,
C. Baxter Kruger, J.B. Torrance, or Lance. Understanding comes from the Lord as we submit ourselves to things
His way.
So you never take a passage at face value. You always and immediately go to other sources to figure it out. I say that my approach is as biblical as it can poosibly be -- allowing to the text "in question" to say what it says.
In view of the FACT that Paul sues a "child to man" illustrations coupled with the FACT that the word, in the original language can be translated "mature," why would I even think to go somewhere else for meaning? Tell me why, Judy.
