So true, but sadly, the illiterate or the country bumpkin with a 4th-grade education will miss out on some incredible and wow-ing insights gained from deep study in the Hebrew or Greek. Are they necessary? No... that's never been argued to my knowledge (and even if it has, it's not been MY argument). Does Hebrew and Greek create a fuller understanding? Absolutely.

jt: Thanks for that Terry, my late FIL is a perfect example.  He had a 4th grade education and book learning was definitely not his forte, although he had all kinds of country wisdom.  He could grow things and take care of live stock. He gave his animals shots and sewed up dogs that had been gored by pigs. He was a godly man with a giving heart and the only book in his house was the KJV Bible.  He could read and understand that and he was an influence for God upon all he came in contact with (including me).
