The question is: How do we bring others to KNOW when we show what jerks we are towards others? For instance...before I became a Believer, I wanted nothing to do with anyone who called themselves Christian. Why would someone want a Savior/Redeemer...to become like "bad Christians"?
Does the Lord accept as His own the one with a kind heart, who shows fruits of the Spirit but does not believe? I know more non-believers who have fruitful trees and kind hearts than I know Believers, or at least those who profe
=============================================Kay and Izzy right. It is time for a change of direction, not to mention attitude on the part of all of us. The things we are throwing at one another are available to anyone, anywhere in the world with the ability to go on line. If I were looking at this bunch for the first time, I would want no part of it. I would laugh that those here refer to themselves as Christians.
It is time for each of us to do a critical self examination and get to doing something pleasing to God. What is going on here is pleasing to no one.
We should be discussing things that benefit one another, such as how to be a more effective witness or how to determine the best way to give to the poor. How to spread limited funds where they will do the most good and how to tell when you are being ripped off by phonies. I could certainly benefit from discussion of both topics.
John asked for ideas on how to have an effective campus ministry. Some of you who hung out on campus could offer him ideas.
Kay also had a good idea of how we could come to know one another better. All I know about Jonathan is that he is Canadian, overweight, has a kid and is holding a lot of anger bottled up inside him. If I knew him better, it may not be such a chore to like him. Lance seems to think Jonathan is alright, and Lance is not the village idiot. I probably should value his opinion of Jonathan more.
Open up and be honest. Stop looking for snipers taking a bead on you. Let it all hang out and see if the Lord will bless it.
