I'm going out on a limb here, Judy. Did you husband fill you in as to the storyline?

jt: I'm not sure that he knew the "storyline" he says Seinfeld uses this line with regard to homosexuality

If yes then, how did he know it? If he did know it then, is HE in pursuit of the truth?

jt: My husband probably watched Seinfeld at some point; as for your second question - [am I going out on a limb here??] My husband has been referred to as "a sleeping Baptist" by a godly Canadian pastor/friend some years back.  He [my husband] is a believer of sorts and is conservative but he doesn't spend as much time in God's Word as I do.  ATST God has made him a good provider so that I am able to spend time in His Word myself and I am grateful for this. Seinfeld is now a non-issue, I don't think he[ the husband] watched it much or that he would watch it today, he is more the Andy Griffith type.

By the by, the 'Seinfeldian' concept of human nature may just be one of the more consistently realistic ever portrayed on  the 'Devil Box'!

jt: That may be so although I certainly hope people are not that obsessive over sex and body parts. I see it as encouraging ppl to laugh over our fallenness and shame as a people. Kind of like Otis in Andy Griffith. The Griffith show was funny and clean; it had a lot of good moral values but then there was Otis the loveable town drunk and drunkenness is never funny - it is a personal and family tragedy, always so we need to be careful about what we approve.

The _expression_:'the fall' (a non-biblical term by the way)

jt: Non biblical?? Only if you don't read the Bible or do not have understanding of same from God.

is your Smithsonian counterpart to the Seinfeldian  'not that there's anything wrontg with that"

jt: Had to ask my husband about your Seinfeld quote - Surely you know better than that Lance, sigh!
Will you ever be serious and sober minded in your pursuit of Truth? Are you pursuing Truth?
