I agree with what you are trying to say, but I have some trouble with your syntax here. :-) Doctrine & Beliefs are two different things, but you treat each syntax as the same. Doctrine does not make anyone more godly. God Himself makes us more godly. Agreed. However, abiding in sound doctrine works to keep us from straying into error. In other words, sound doctrine keeps us in that which God is working within us. Sound doctrine facilitates holiness, but it does not directly create holiness. Faith and belief, on the other hand, is the vehicle which attaches us to God (I'm talking about when the object of faith and belief is God, not doctrine). Therefore, our faith does produce righteousness in us. Faith does make us more godly, by connecting us to the Spirit of God which works within us. Peace be with you.
