In more than one place in God's word, we are warned not to add to or take from God's word.  The punishment is having your name removed from the book of life if I remember correctly.  Would you consider the BOM to be adding to God's word?  If so, are Mormons saved?

Allow me to chim in here.    Salvation is not a legal issue. Not any more.   Do you presently claim to be doctrinally correct about every biblical issue?  Is there a chance, perhaps a good chance that you will change your mind about some reasonably important matter in the next several years?

My point?   In one very real sense, a mistaken teaching is an addition to the truth of the message.   You are adding to the message.  If, and that is a big deal biblically, if Dave is doing the very best that he knows how and has hornored the Christ in the way he has this past week,  I think that God will bid him enter  --   because of Christ, of course.
