RE: [TruthTalk] Evangelism

Debbie, I think DavidM’s post mentioning “balance” is where the crux of the problem lies.  I keep hearing the Spirit speak “balance” to me lately—in every venue of life. Of COURSE we need one another.  But is fellowship necessary for Salvation and growth in righteousness, NO!  If you were alone on a deserted island would all hope dissipate—no!  God designed us to work together to reflect Christ (like so many little broken bits of mirror reflecting Him), and to serve one another in love.  But we do not get saved through the Corporation.  We get saved, we get filled, we get sanctified One on one.  Having you and everyone else on TT with whom to fellowship is wonderful icing on the cake, our personal relationship to God and His Word is the cake, and the recipe is from God.  J Izzy   From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Debbie Sawczak Sent: Wednesday, January 26, 2005 2:25 PM To: TruthTalk@mail.innglory.org Subject: RE: [TruthTalk] Evangelism   In other words--to connect the below with my immediately preceding post whose thread I retitled "Word of God"--if it is a form of "dependency" to need each other to be, and help understand, reality, then so is needing to sleep, eat, and exercise. Perhaps perspective makes a difference.  Does our Lord want us to have the attitude that we need each other in order to obtain truth, or the attitude that others need us?  Love brings on the heart of the servant and leads us to serve others, realizing that they need us to serve them, whereas the attitude that we need each other can lead to dependency issues which breaks out of what God is trying to work.  I think a more healthy perspective is to say that we need God, and once we have touched God, God has ordained that we serve others, the strong supporting the weak. Put another way, there is an importance in relationship and community that God is after, but we must understand this in proper balance.  To say that truth is unobtainable without the voice of others is error.
