Consider all the people that Jesus cast demons out of. Were they happy go-lucky people? The healthy and the wealthy of the society? Did they notice when the demons were gone? Who said the parable about Lazarus and the rich man was about demonization? Was that even a secondary or tertiary point of Jesus' story?

IMHO, the demons want humans to experience the greatest depths of pain, despair, anger, hate etc. Getting sent to the abyss would cut short their fun.

But then again, you believe demons get to torture people forever in hell...and that they will hate it...worse than the ordinary 9-5 job. No wonder you believe as you do about demons. Interesting.

You might reconsider this. Christians often suffer.  I don't think this attracts demons.  Rather, I think demons are attracted to those who are in luxury and comfort, but the demons abuse them and when they get through with them, the end is pain and suffering.  In other words, they are not feeding off pain and despair.  They cause it through abuse the way that this Couey guy did with Jessica Lunsford.

Also, remember Lazarus and the rich man?  The rich man was the one who had little pain and suffering while Lazarus was always in pain and suffering.  Who was the one who went to hell?

Another consideration.  If they fed off pain and despair, then hell would be a glorious place for demons.  I don't think demons like pain and despair at all.  I think they tremble to think about being stuck in hell for all eternity with all these suffering humans.

Peace be with you.
