This does not mean that every Jew presently living in what is literally called Israel is going to be included in God's Kingdom so that what they could not accomplish under the Law will just be put upon them now whether they want it or not.  It makes no sense for one and is not the way God does things. He doesn't change and neither does His standard.  The word Israel in Romans 11:26 #2474 in Strongs is Jisrael, the adopted name of Jacob which would include his descendents both literally or figuratively. and in this instance it's use must be figurative since God will not force anything upon anyone and we see in Revelation 2:9 and 3:9 that there are those who say they are Jews who are of the synagogue of Satan.

The unrighteous didn't make it under the Law and neither will they make it under grace.  You can't make a doctrine from just one scripture.  Find me at least one more witness in either Old or NT saying that the unregenerate (either Jew or Gentile) will be saved or any whole Nation, regardless.  All Israel is all of God's ppl which the words Israel and Zion are  used to represent.  judyt

For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

BTW, if God chooses who responds to Him, then how can anyone be blamed for rebellion? They are only doing what they were created by God to do. Why should we warn the rebellious? Is it not God's will that they burn forever? Why shorten the party here and now?

Caroline, The only one who actually draws circles is the Lordwe had best listen to what He says about who is in and who is out.  His Word says we can definitely sin to the point of missing Gods grace.  (Id give you scriptures, but dont think they would matter to you.  Let me know if you want them.)  Please give scripture for Paul saying all Jews will be saved. (Good luck.)

3rd world Believers often have a purer faith than those of us intellectuals in the more developed world.  They hear the Word and believe it, and obey it.  It is no shock at all that there they are raising the dead and doing miracles, and Christianity is exploding there.

I raised my two sons in a Presbyterian church, which by the way was much more conservative back then than it is now.  I know about Calvins predestination.  I can tell you it is simply Gods foreknowledge of who will be saved, regardless of what Calvin thought.  He chooses those who respond to Him in faith and obedience.  Simple.  Izzy

Matt 22: 1Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying,

2"(A)The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a (B)wedding feast for his son.

3"And he (C)sent out his slaves to call those who had been invited to the wedding feast, and they were unwilling to come.

4"Again he (D)sent out other slaves saying, 'Tell those who have been invited, "Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and my fattened livestock are all butchered and everything is ready; come to the wedding feast."'

5"But they paid no attention and went their way, one to his own farm, another to his business,

6and the rest seized his slaves and mistreated them and killed them.

7"But the king was enraged, and he sent his armies and destroyed those murderers and set their city on fire.

8"Then he said to his slaves, 'The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.

9'Go therefore to (E)the main highways, and as many as you find there, invite to the wedding feast.'

10"Those slaves went out into the streets and gathered together all they found, both evil and good; and the wedding hall was filled with dinner guests.

11"But when the king came in to look over the dinner guests, he saw (F)a man there who was not dressed in wedding clothes,

12and he said to him, '(G)Friend, how did you come in here without wedding clothes?' And the man was speechless.

13"Then the king said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, and throw him into (H)the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'

14"For many are (I)called, but few are chosen."  (ie: Predestined)

Some would draw the line and say all those people are outside the circle; some would say we can not sin beyond God's grace. Besides, Paul assures us that all Jews will be saved.

I believe there is mercy for Christians from the desert fathers to the Medieval peasant who got indoctrinated with the wrong theology. I believe this mercy goes on today. Globally, Christians believe many different things but the greatest miracles take place in the 3rd world. Do we look at these societal situations and decide who has the purest form of the faith? What does that say about North American Christianity?

Also, does anyone here believe in double predestination? Some are destined for hell and some for heaven. It's Calvin theology.

Love,

Caroline
