Why does He have to be the Eternal Son rather than the Eternal Word

I do not put it anywhere. I just accept it. John speaks of the Christ in each of the passages mentioned with differing words. Christ is bigger than a single idea or concept. He is the Word and this Word is God. He is ALSO THE UNIQUE sON OF GOD and is forever intimately a part of the Father. Praise His name. JD

JD I was referring to John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word" (.......) Where do you put this scripture???If what you are reading into John 1:18 is so then why didn't the apostle write "In the beginning was the Son?"You need to buy a Bible translated from the Masoretic text and do a study on the names of God in the HebrewIt might surprise you. jtOn Fri, 24 Jun 2005 01:30:20 -0400 [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes:John 1:18 No one has seen God at any time. The only unique (begotten) Son who is in (eis) the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him."This may be one of the strongest NT passages declaring the eternal Sonship. Bill might have some exegetical comment. The thrust of this passage is this -- the unique Son of God is forever into (a part of , intimately incorporated ) the bosom (the center of life for the Father) of the Father. Sonship in (eis) the Father is a forecer circumstance.!!!! JD
