Because the book of Genesis outlines very clearly how God created the first man, from the dust of the ground, and then breathed into him the breath of life. From him, he created woman, and man and woman came together to bring forth offspring of their own. I read nothing about any act prior to the creation of Adam that would have created men and women as spirits prior to their birth in the flesh. In addition, when Jesus was born into this world, there is testimony of his prior existence. However, concerning his birth, he is spoken of as being unique. This is that word "monogenes" that we have brought up before. Therefore, Jesus is uniquely the Son of God in that he was born in a way that no other man was. His pre-existence, therefore, ought not be understood as applying to other people. He is unique in this regard, in that he was God himself, the Logos.
