Character assessment of the "opponent" apparently runs in the family!!! 
 
Now that you have settled yourself about an aspect of my character  --  would you mind answering the question in clear and concise terms?  Please note that a "comment" not made by me  --  only a question.

That is a self-absorbed comment. I am not saying you are self-absorbed, JD, but that comment is a self-absorbed mindset when following Christ. If you love God, you will live righteously.
 
By the way, "this is love, that we walk after his commandments." ( 2John 1:6)
 
I am not saying we should be obsessed with our personal righteousness, but that we will be righteous and blameless when we love God and walk in that love. I am trying very hard to understand why this is troubling to you.

are not saying to live for righteousness's sake, but
for Christ's sake, and your life will be glorify God.
