From: "David Miller" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Judy quotes Zodhiates as saying:
> But His was, as Rom 8:3 says, not the flesh of sin, but sinless flesh.

Judy, you really need to follow your own advice about reading the Bible for
yourself.

jt: I do this David and God the Holy Spirit reveals the same understanding
to me as He reveals to Zodhiates .. strange as that may seem.  It was my
belief before I bought his Word Study Dictionary.

It is fine to consult what other scholars say, but do not take what they say as
gospel truth.

jt: When it agrees with the gospel, then I call it "gospel truth"  This man is
not telling me what to believe. He is doing what Strongs does with a little
more depth.

Unfortunately, Zodhiates has led you astray here.

jt: No David, if anyone has led me astray it is the Holy Spirit to whom I pray
and rely on for understanding and insight.

Read Romans 8:3 for yourself.

jt: I have been doing this David, over and over, in all of the Study Bibles I
listed for you.  I missed the Amplified - let me see what that one says:
"For God has done what the Law could not do, (its power) being weakened
by the flesh (the entire nature of man without the Holy Spirit). Sending His
own Son in the guise of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin (God) condemned
sin in the flesh (subdued, overcame, deprived it of its power over all who accept
that sacrifice)" (Romans 8:3 Amp)

It says just the opposite of what Zodhiates says here in this quote of yours.
Romans 8:3 says "SINFUL flesh" not "SINLESS flesh."  Zodhiates is letting his
theology get in the way of his Greek analysis.

jt: He has lots and lots of company. In fact the tranlators of every Bible I have
must have the same problem David.  I'm surprised that you take this stand
You must be being blinded by the other gospel.  You say you approve of Kevin's
video clip and He addresses this issue in the first utterance "God's eyes are
so holy and pure that they can't look upon sin"  This is the issue here.

Romans 8:3
(3) For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh,
God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin,
condemned sin in the flesh:

jt: Yes IN THE LIKENESS/GUISE of sinful flesh and as a sacrifice for sin.
He paid the debt He did not owe, for the debt we were unable to pay...
