Yet another and, IMO, far more profound example (interpretively): THE RAPTURE. LaHaye/Jenkins et al have made millions off a false teaching. This, unlike Terry's example (which is teeny, tiny in comparison) is present within the 'believing' community.

The big problem with the Bible is that it does not always say what you want it to say, therefore it is not totally reliable.  If you start trying to go strictly according to the book, then you have no latitude to see Jesus as you would like Him to be.
