So, then why don't people just buy the Orion server and save the money they
would be paying to Oracle?

Oracle still has to provide some sort of value add in order to get people to
buy their software regardless of whether or not they purchase it from
someone else or just use OSS software. Of course using OSS software gains
all the benefits that we already know over using commercial software.
