Well, some of us work for nice big universities with site licenses for 
Oracle :-)

I find that here and in most Oracle shops that I know of there seems to 
be overwhelming pressure to "do it the way that Oracle says to do it."  
Management doesn't like the idea that their expensive Oracle DB has free 
stuff running on top of it that could run just as well on a free DB (at 
least at the scale that most people I know are running their stuff at) 
which brings us back to your discussion with the Oracle person at 
JavaOne.

Anyway, back to Turbine talk...
