You have picked a bad time to start developing with Turbine for the first
time. We are going through a process in 2.2 of trying to make some stable
that won't have to change for a long time. Much as the process you went
through with Avalon. I tried to develop with Avalon and many of the same
experiences you are having now. Unfamiliar build systems, out of date
documentation or none and an API that changed a lot. You have to be
patient. I realize that you have a project that you have to work on
and that is why 2.1 was release.
If you want to try and keep up with 2.2 you are more than likely going
to be frustrated. The next big check in I hope to have the start of an
API to try and minimize changes that people working against HEAD
will have to make. Scarab is trying to keep in tune with HEAD and so
are others, so even though HEAD is an experimental landscape I am going
to try and make it easier while the changes are being made. Please bear with
me.
