OPaL isn't really a replacement for Village. It doesn't have to use Village,
but I personally think that is a bad idea no to.

Village is simply a wrapper around JDBC. OPaL is a
object->relational->object mapping system.

There is an example in the Turbine package somewhere for jyve.
