That would be definetely good thing to happen.

Excuse me, but what is MPL? I never heard of that one...

Huh?! This sounds weird to me... And definetely not fair.

I have one more question regarding licenses. The company I work for
is currently working on a system that is based on Tomcat, Turbine and
Webmacro. Currently, we are not planning to sell or otherwise distribute
this system, instead we will be running it on our own servers and act as
an ASP for our clients. As far as I understand the licenses, they make
restrictions regarding software modification and distribution, not usage.
Are we bound by the licenses to do something except placing a "Powered
by Open Software" page among the webpages served by the system?

The system is due September 10. If we should start talking with Semiotek
about purchasing licenses, we'd better start soon...

(Leon : we aren't really concerned about Turbine's release. It's not stable
but it's fine. We feel that we have both the power and the knowledge
necessary to fix things if they break, so we are just moving forward.)

And talking about clean room reimplemetaion of WebMacro, well,it would
delay things, but could otherwise do good to the product. It's nice to know
that we have a way out even if thigns won't go right.
