a production site running Turbine-based apps.

FREE BEER or FREE SPEECH

JServ http://java.apache.org/jserv/index.html
* Supports only servlets 2.0.
* There are Turbine apps running Ok on it.
* Good integration with Apache.
* Can do load-balancing with Apache.
Tomcat http://jakarta.apache.org/
* Good integration with Apache via mod_jk.
* v3.1 is not production quality.
* v3.2 is not released, but is production quality.
* 4.0 still needs work.
Jetty http://jetty.mortbay.com/
* Quite stable.
Locomotive http://www.locomotive.org/
Enhydra http://www.enhydra.org/
LOW COST
========
Resin http://www.caucho.com/
* Price ($500) is paid only by for-profit sites.
* Quite fast.
* Good support.
* Good adherence to standards.
* Open Source.
* Many people like it/use it.
HIGH COST
=========
IBM WebSphere
* Supports only servlets 2.0.
* Hard to install and configure.
* Expensive support.
* There are key people (Jon) who hate it.
BEA WebLogic
* Faster than Tomcat.
* Has some bugs.
* Easy to install and configure.
* Good documentation.
* There are key people (Jon) who like it.
* Expensive support, and very hard to get.
Sun/Netscape iPlanet
* There are Turbine apps running Ok on it.
* There are key people (Jon) who hate it.
